HEADLINE ACT
With over 176k monthly listeners and more than 54k Instagram followers, L Devine’s debut album, Digital Heartifacts, boasts a cohesive sound that continues to warp any preconceived notions of the pop genre, cementing her status as one to watch.
After trading London living for her hometown of Whitley Bay and switching record labels, the 26-year-old’s debut EP, Growing Pains (2019), initially propelled her to success. Many resonate with her lyrical prowess and almost diary-like relatability of the queer experience. Described by Charli XCX as “the motherfucking future”, and a GAY TIMES’ Elevate Emerging Star in Music honouree, her headline is not to be missed.
THE BOILER SHOP
Self-described as “Once the crucible of the Industrial Revolution, now a much-loved venue in the heart of Newcastle”, Boiler Shop is essential to the varied fabric of Newcastle’s music scene and is the perfect venue for us to return and hold Generator Live for the second time. One of the world’s first commercial locomotive factories, it has since been repurposed into a Grade II Listed Industrial building dedicated to proudly showcasing the best in Entertainment and Performing Arts.
They’ve previously hosted the likes of Lime Cordiale, Martin Kemp, Pale Waves, Holding Absence, Du Blonde, The Subways, Sam Fender, and many more. Actively sharing our vision of working towards an inclusive and diverse music scene, it’s a breeding ground for industry professionals to discover emerging talent and the perfect backdrop for our showcase.
